Working Principle of LCD2041-R-VPT-E

The LCD2041-R-VPT-E display module works on a principle known as liquid crystal display (LCD). A liquid crystal consists of long thin molecules that can be twisted and untwisted when an electric charge is applied. By varying the amount of applied electric charge, the LCD display module can change the orientation of the molecules, thus changing the amount of light that is allowed to pass through the LCD. The LCD display module can then be used to display alphanumeric characters, symbols or pictures.

In an LCD display module, the liquid crystal is sandwiched between two pieces of glass and two thin transparent plates that act as electrodes. When a charge is applied to the electrodes, an electric field is created between the two plates. This electric field is used to control the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules. By varying the amount of charge, the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules can be changed and therefore, different intensities of light can be transmitted through the LCD display module.

An LCD display module contains a grid of pixels. Each pixel can be made up of one or several triads of RGB (Red, Green and Blue) transistors. When the LCD display module is powered, the electrodes will create an electric field that will cause the molecules inside the LCD display module to become aligned. This will control how much light is allowed to pass through each pixel and determine the colour that is displayed on the device.
