The LCE48A operates by utilizing a current-limiting switch which shunts the transient from the circuit and the integrated ESD protection diode array which absorbs the ESD current. When a transient is applied to the TVS, the current limiting switch will turn on and shunt the transient away from the circuit, preventing it from damaging the device or causing failure. When an ESD discharge occurs, the ESD protection diodes will absorb the current, thus providing protection against electrostatic discharge. The common-mode feed-through filter will also help to reduce EMI/RFI noise as well.
