LCSWS4516 is an intelligent Single Phase automatic recloser (SFAR) simulators specifically designed for laboratory applications. It provides a variety of input signals, such as voltage, current, frequency, phase angles, and output signals, such as switching actions, closing current/voltage, voltage before and after opening, etc. With the real time display of single/three-phase status and fault clearance and waveform change, LCSWS4516 can be used to evaluate the differences of various schemes under different operating modes, fault scenarios and load levels.

Application Field

LCSWS4516 provides an just-in-place testbed for the new generation of SFAR. It can detect different auto-reclose control strategies, such as SEQUENTIAL, SIMULTANEOUS, OPTIONAL, SINGLE-THROTTLE, DOUBLE-THROTTLE, MULTI-THROTTLE, FIRESAFE, etc. It supports the fault monitoring tests for the SFAR using the loop feedback control technologies, including the functions of backup protection, power failure protection, transfer power protection, auxiliary protection and other auxiliary functions associated with the fine SFAR controllers, etc. Meanwhile, it carries out tests with respect to the advanced communication technologies, such as IEC 61850. Apart from that, it is competent in carrying out the exemption tests with high voltage circuit breaker and various power equipment, thus enabling people to identify the protection functions.

Working Principle

The operating principle of LCSWS4516 is actually a combination of physical and digital technologies. When a fault occurs, the vector relationship of current and voltage, as well as the information on time parameters, will be obtained by the analog circuit, which then calculates the switching order of fault current surge and estimates the period required for fault clearance. The measured signals, such as voltage, current, and electric energy, will be converted into digital signals, which will be transferred into digital trigger module and I/O linkage module. Our software system installed in the signal computer will further process these digital signals. Apart from realizing all the above mentioned functions, the software system will also issue the related operating instructions. As a result of this process, the SFAR simulator is able to simulate the closing/opening of circuit breakers, thus achieving the predetermined fault conditions and fault clearance conditions.
