LD39100PUR is a low-dropout (LDO) Linear voltage regulator from STMicroelectronics. It is designed to serve a variety of power-management applications, including voltage regulation of core and I/O components in point-of-load (POL) converters, digital and communication devices, industrial and consumer markets. Typically, a linear voltage regulator is being used as a low-noise, very high output accuracy and low dropout voltage power source for precision control of output current and/or voltage. Its very high accuracy of ±1.2% can provide for good thermal performance and improved noise immunity in applications such as 3.3V, 5V and 12V systems or other related systems that require a exactly controlled voltage ranging from 1.5V to 11V and current up to 1.5A.
The LD39100PUR consists of a PNP pass transistor, an error amplifier, and an ultra-low dropout voltage regulator, connected within a minimum number of external components. It works with a wide voltage range of 1.2V to 20V, with an operating temperature of -40°C to 125°C, and can regulate the output current up to 1.5A.
The very low quiescent current of the LD39100PUR, together with its high-load current capability and low dropout voltage, make it ideal for low-power applications in tight spaces. It uses advanced active clamp technology, which allows higher output current capability and faster transient response than conventional LDOs. This active clamp technology also allows for very low turn-on times of less than 10 µs, helping to minimize power search and enable fast current regulation in high-dynamic-load applications.
