LDA200STR Application Field and Working Principle

The LDA200STR is an opto-isolator that functions as a digital signal isolator in industrial electrical systems with high AC or DC power levels. It can be used to provide isolation and protection for input and output signals in automated production lines, process control systems, emergency power systems, and other industrial equipment.

The LDA200STR features an LED source, two light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as the light source. The LEDs act as a detector for the change in electrical energy and output voltage. When an external signal is applied to the Base-Line port, the output voltage will change accordingly. The energy in the signal is converted into light and is then detected by the phototransistor. The phototransistor then amplifies the signal and produces an amplified output voltage.

The LDA200STR also features an immunity to transformers. When an external transformer is connected to the terminals, the output voltage remains stable regardless of the transformer’s power. This is especially useful in industrial applications, where transformers are commonly used.
