1. Describe
The LDC0851HDSGR is an ideal proximity sensor switch For contactless and powerful applications such as Presence detection, event counting and simplicity buttons. Trigger the switch when there is a conductive object close to the induction coil. Hysteresis included to ensure reliable switching Threshold is not affected by mechanical vibration. this Differential implementation prevents false triggering Exceeding environmental factors such as temperature changes or humidity effects. Inductive sensing technology provides reliable and even in the presence of dirt, oil or Moisture makes it ideal for use in harsh or dirty environments environment. Solid state switches eliminate the Failure due to reed, mechanical or contact exchange. Unlike competing products, the LDC0851 No magnets required and no DC influence magnetic field.

The LDC0851 relies on two externally placed sensors (LSENSE and LREF) and a capacitor (CSENSOR) for proper operation. Coil design and matching are critical to ensure proper switching occurs. Also note that the parasitic capacitance of the board (CBOARD) and the LCOM input pin (CIN_COM) is In parallel with CSENSOR, the sum of all three capacitors forms a total capacitance (CTOTAL), which is considered part of the system. CTOTAL must be greater than 33 pF to be considered in the valid design space. The LDC0851 can be used in event counting applications such as gear detection or speed measurement. An example of gear tooth detection using side-by-side coils is shown below, where the gears are made of conductive material and rotate on the coils. Two identical coils can be placed, and when one of the coils is covered by the gear teeth, the other is not. The output switches when the inductance values of the two coils are equal as the gear passes.
