LDK120PU-R Application Field and Working Principle

The LDK120PU-R is a 30V, single channel, linear voltage regulator from STMicroelectronics. It is a linear low dropout (LDO) regulator with a powerful 1A output current and over-temperature, current and reverse polarity protection. This IC is rated for operation over a temperature range of -40 to 125°C, making it suitable for a variety of industrial, automotive and consumer applications.

The LDK120PU-R is used for providing fixed output voltage for post-regulation or for design modifications. It is mostly used in current-limited applications such as high-side switching, current-mode control, switching regulators, and other power management ICs with limited safe-operating area.
