The LLC42A1A series electronic level controllers from ASCO are designed for accurate, repeatable level control in liquid storage tanks. The controllers monitor the liquid level inside the tank and then instruct valve actuators to incrementally open and close the inflow and outflow valves in accordance with the desired fluid level. With this setup, you can precisely control the liquid level: operating the inflow and outflow valves at the same valve angle allows you to control the regulated level to ±1 mm accuracy over the entire operating range. This makes LLC62A1A controllers ideal for usage in oil wells, chemical storage, water treatment plants, and other applications that require precise level control.

The LLC42A1A utilizes a capacitance-based sensing system to accurately detect liquid level changes. The system consists of two hinged plates that protrude into the fluid that are connected to a plate amplifier. The external electrical architecture offers users a simplified wiring and installation process as the setup only requires a low-voltage configurable DC power supply and a two-wire loop. When the plates experience changes in capacitance caused by a change in liquid level, the plate amp will send an updated signal to a microprocessor that will adjust the valve actuators accordingly.

The LLC42A1A offers users a large range of features, such as remote configuration and monitoring capabilities via Modbus, an integrated, four-digit display with a menu-driven user interface, adjustable setpoints, and a 12-hour software watchdog function. Additionally, the controller offers a built-in surge suppressor to protect your system from erratic electrical surges.

Safety is an important feature of the LLC42A1A series controllers. One particularly useful feature is the adjustable force limiters, which protect the actuator motors from unnecessary wear and tear by limiting the force applied to the motor. Furthermore, there is an adjustable upper limit switchp on the motor that will shut off the motor if the liquid level exceeds the set limit. The motor will then only start up again when the liquid level has fallen below the maximum level.

The LLC42A1A series controllers are effective for liquid level control applications, offering precise control over the liquid level with its two-wire loop systems and built-in surge suppressors.
