The LM139D is an available dual, high-speed, low-power comparator, offering superior specifications that make it ideal for many applications, especially in portable and telecommunications systems. It is designed as a low-power-consumption, low-voltage, comparator with two independently operable outputs, separated by their base band voltages.The LM139D is designed with a dual comparator configuration where each comparator has its own set of inputs. The output of each comparator is independent of the other. A differential voltage is applied between the two inputs and the output of each comparator will reflect the comparison between the respective input voltages. The LM139D responds quickly to small changes in the differential voltage allowing it to have fast operation times.Applications for the LM139D mainly include applications that require a fast response time to quickly detect and react to changes in input levels. The LM139D is suitable for a range of high-speed, single-ended analog and digital circuits such as: logic open/close control and Schmitt trigger circuits, voltage regulator and control circuits, pulse-width-modulation (PWM) circuits, sensory switches and signal amplifiers.In terms of operating voltage, the LM139D is capable of operating at a supply voltage as low as 2.5V. The current consumption of the device can be as low as 4μA, making the LM139D highly efficient and ideal for battery operated devices. The device has an operating temperature of -40℃ to 85℃.When it comes to electrical characteristics, the LM139D has a typical hysteresis of 10mV and can switch at speeds as low as 100ns with a delay time of 35ns. The output voltage can be as low as 2.4V and maximum output current can be as large as 16mA. The device has a very low and small input bias current of 0.01μA.Overall the LM139D is a relatively efficient and low-cost dual comparator designed for applications with limited space, such as consumer electronics and telecommunications. Its low power fails can be well suited for battery operated products and its fast response time can be good for a variety of applications.
