LM1771TMM/NOPB is a switching voltage regulator which is categorized under PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) – Voltage Regulators – DC DC Switching Controllers. A typical voltage regulator using the LM1771TMM/NOPB circuit can be divided into three main parts – the input stage, the controller stage and the output stage.
The input stage takes an unregulated voltage source as an input. This input voltage is conditioned by a rectifier and voltage regulator so that the voltage received at the input of the controller is regulated. This regulated input then passes through the EMI filter towards the internal regulator stages.
The LM1771TMM/NOPB switches on and off the output stage according to the input voltage in order to maintain a constant output voltage. The frequency of this action is defined by a clock oscillator circuit. This is done by alternately switching on and off the two N-Channel MOSFETs in the output stage of the circuit.
