It also has an integrated undershoot/overvoltage protection and also has thermal overload protection.The LM21215MHX/NOPB switching regulator works on the principles of pulse width modulation (PWM) and is designed to regulate the output voltage of the converter. It also adjusts the duty cycle based on the output voltage and current requirements of the load. The output voltage is monitored by a voltage error-amplifier, which then compares the output voltage to an internally generated reference voltage. The error-amplifier then adjusts the fraction of the time the output is either high or low, i.e. the duty cycle. The duty cycle is then compared to an internal deadtime circuit and the pulse width is adjusted accordingly.
