The LM25069PMMX-2/NOPB is an advanced protected, digital Hot Swap controller that serves the hot insertion and removal of host board connected power modules without disruption of the other modules present and without host board involvement in the dynamic insertion orremoval of a module.
This device works using a Hot Swap voltage threshold mechanism, to provide overvoltage and undervoltage protection along with inrush current limit to the board. With its Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO) protection, Module removal detection and logic slew rate control features, this device has been designed to support safe Hot Swap insertion of modules in to power systems.
The LM25069PMMX-2/NOPB is primarily used for AC, DC and telecom applications, where in the power rails are not allowed to drop out below minimum threshold value. With its power up/down sequencing, unlimited fault conditions can be sequenced. The device supports over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage and inrush current limit protections.
The LM25069PMMX-2/NOPB supports a clock output to season the power supply ramp rate if needed. The device can also provide support for the insertion and removal of modules programmatically. It features two comparators, a programmable delay timer, six N-MOS FETs and a slew rate control engine.
The device\'s basic working principle is to compare a Hot Swap voltage threshold to the module DC inrush current and with help of an on-chip pull up resistor, the N-Mos FET is activated in process. The timer initiates the voltage ramp and the slew rate control engine ensures that the voltage rises rapidly at the beginning of the pulse and slowing down near the end.
The LM25069PMMX-2/NOPB is a highly efficient device, as it can work on both 5V and 3V supply rails. It also provides high accuracy control capabilities, with a 0.5% error band at the Hot Swap threshold. In addition, the device is robust and provides protection against multiple fault conditions.
