The LM2759SD/NOPB is a low-power LED Driver with a built-in pulse width modulation (PWM) controller.The device is designed to drive one or two currents of up to 20 mA each, in either series- or parallel-connected LEDs. The PWM current serve both as a means of dimming the LED and as a means of linearizing the brightness of the LEDs for a given dimming level. The current-balancing circuitry ensures an even spread of current between the LEDs.The wide supply voltage range of 3.3 V to 30 V allows easy control of the brightness from a single voltage source. Additionally, the device has a high current accuracy and a low quiescent current. The device is intended for use in a variety of applications such as automotive, industrial, instrumentation, and general lighting applications.
Application Field

Working Principle
The LM2759SD/NOPB contains a PWM controller, a voltage regulator, and current-balancing circuitry. The device can be powered with an external power supply, or with the built-in voltage regulator, which utilizes a Schottky diode to limit the regulator output voltage by allowing a voltage drop at the diode. The device is driven by a single control signal, which determines the magnitude of current going through the LEDs and the PWM frequency.
When the control signal is low, one of the switch gates is off, allowing the output to be regulated. The other switch gate, meanwhile, is on, so current can flow through the LEDs and the PWM controller. The current flowing through the LEDs is regulated by the PWM controller, which will adjust the duty cycle of the output signal to change the current and voltage it delivers to the LEDs. The current-balancing circuitry ensures that the ratio of current between the LEDs is balanced. This helps to achieve a linear brightness output, as the relative brightness of LED dimming is proportional to the stored potential energy in the capacitor.
