The LM2903AM8-13 is a Linear-Comparators which was manufactured by NXP semiconductors. This device provides excellent temperature stability, accuracy and low power consumption in small very thin packages for it is a perfect fit for a large range of applications. It has an operating temperature of −40 °C to +125 °C (corresponding to junction temperature −40 °C to +125 °C). This device is mainly used in automotive, industrial, personal computer peripherals, and applications requiring high speed, excellent temperature stability, and accuracy.
The LM2903AM8-13 is based on the operational amplifier principle, employing a differential input stage with high open loop gain. The device provides a direct output which is capable of driving up to 5mA load current at wide supply ranges of 5.0V to 36V. The differential input stage of the device housed in a very tiny package allows for an excellent temperature stability, accuracy and low power consumption perfect for automotive and industry applications. The internal circuit structure helps keep the output low power consumption, good thermoelectric characteristics, no danger of over applied voltage, and a good Immunity to transient noise.
The LM2903AM8-13 linear-comparator is available in the industry standard dual in-line (DIP) and surface mount packages. These packages are RoHS Compliant and Lead-Free, as there is no more lead involved in the packaging. The output swing is from 0.8V to 2.5V and it comes with a disable feature that makes it easier to control the use of the device by setting and unsetting the output. It has a fast settling time and low current consumption, features which make the device ideally suited for the most demanding portable electronic applications. It has an input voltage range of 0.5V to 36V and a supply voltage of 5V to 18V.
The LM2903AM8-13 linear-comparator operates by comparing the input signals of opposite polarity at a single noninverting input. The output voltage is zero or positive when an output is high, and zero or less negative when the output is low. When the input waveforms are close to each other, their difference is amplified. The output waveform reaches its maximum and minimum values when the waveforms are the same. The output will then be driven to either a high level or low level output depending on the input signal. When the output is driven low, the output impedance is high, minimizing current draw from the power supply.
These features make the LM2903AM8-13 linear-comparator ideal for a wide range of applications such as motor control, voltage regulators, automotive, robotics, automotive safety systems, and power supply switch-mode regulators. It is also suitable for industrial electronic control systems such as high voltage or high current applications, power supplies, and DC-DC converters.
