LM2936MP-3.3/NOPB is a PMIC (power management IC) linear voltage regulator designed to provide an adjustable output voltage between 2.8 and 5.2 V, with negligible ripple over the output range. The LM2936MP-3.3/NOPB operates at a temperature range of -40℃~125℃ and have the capability to provide an output current up to 1.5A. It includes a power on-reset (POR) circuit, a P-channel MOSFET for startup, and under/over voltage protection that shuts down the device when the output voltage is outside of the predefined range. The device has internal thermal protection and over-temperature shutdown.The LM2936MP-3.3/NOPB is applicable in various applications. It is suitable for voltage monitoring, voltage monitoring in the presence of EMI or power system design, for example for powering the gate drive logic and gate bias of power control ICs, gate control systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC), telecommunication power systems and mining industry. It also finds applications in automotive and avionic systems.The working principle of LM2936MP-3.3/NOPB is based on the “error amplifier bias” technique, where an external voltage reference is further amplified and compared to a voltage divider connected to the output. Whenever a difference between these two voltages is created, a signal is sent to the control circuit that adjusts the output accordingly. This control circuit then makes use of a voltage regulator, which is usually a P channel MOSFET to reduce the output voltage. This MOSFET can be programmed with, for example, voltage regulation or frequency regulation set points.One of the key advantages of LM2936MP-3.3/NOPB is that it provides a wide range of output voltage adjustment, from 2.8 to 5.2 V, without large steps, which makes it suitable for various applications.
