When the output voltage reaches the value set in the program register, the integrated totem pole output driver will turn off the low-side switch, and the output voltage discharge path will be opened. If the input voltage is lower than the output voltage, the regulator will deactivate the low-side switch, which will allow the output voltage to drop to maintain the output current.
