The LM3352-3.3EVAL is a complete evaluation board for a 3.3V output, low-ripple, switch-mode power supply. This board is capable of supplying output power at up to 3A while maintaining an output voltage accuracies of ±1%. With its all-in-one design, the board is perfect for assessing the performance of DC-DC and AC-DC SMPS designs.

The operating principle of the LM3352-3.3EVAL relies on the use of an inductive amplifier, often referred to as a Buck or Step-Down circuit. In this type of circuit, an input voltage is applied to an inductively-coupled transformer. As the input current increases, more magnetomotive force is created in the field of the transformer, which in turn creates a voltage at the output of the transformer.

The output voltage is then regulated by a controller, such as the LM317, which compares the desired output voltage to the actual voltage to control the output of the power supply.
