The LM3501TL-16EV evaluation board works on the principle of low-voltage, low-power LED drivers. The enclosure features an LED array driver IC, LED bus, and LED power driver. The array driver IC is intended to convert DC input voltages of 12V to 24V into outputs of up to 50W of controlled LEDs. The LED bus is designed to provide a high degree of power and ground conductors. The LED power driver then takes the input voltage and provides up to 12V of LED power.In order to regulate the LED power quickly and accurately, the LM3501TL-16EV evaluates features an on-board Voltage mode Controller IC that provides instant LED power control. The LM3501TL-16EV has a highly efficient MOSFET based LED driver that is capable of delivering a wide range output as well as providing greater thermal efficiency.Protection Systems:
The LM3501TL-16EV Evaluation Board is equipped with several protection systems to ensure its reliable performance. These protection systems are implemented by onboard support circuits that monitor voltage, current and temperature signals generated by the driver IC or the LED bus.In the event of over-current, the on-board support circuits will terminate the power conducted through the LED driver, cutting power to the LEDs. Additionally, the LM3501TL-16EV features a soft-start resistor to help bring the device up to its nominal operation power gradually and also reduce inrush current triggering.
