LM385D-1-2 is an accurate Noise-Free Voltage Reference device among a range of adjustable voltage regulators and references. This Voltage Reference device falls in the category of PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) from the field of Voltage Reference.

LM385D-1-2 is ideally designed for embedded systems and its high stability reduces noise and minimizes the need for complex external circuitry. This precise voltage reference has two alternative pins for power and ground voltage to simplify the board layout for high current applications such as in industrial, automotive and aerospace applications. This adjustability also helps in adding redundancy if needed.

LM385D-1-2 is created with precision to get exact voltage output within a small variation of ±2.5mV over line, load, and temperature conditions. This complete device includes a temperature compensated voltage reference and an amplifier with current limiting protection to safety guard it while the voltage shifts due to line fluctuations.

LM385D-1-2 is built with superior active components that can handle a wide range of temperature operating conditions and a wide input voltage range up to 18V. It has a maximum output current of up to 70mA with good accuracy and low drift over temperature and time.

This TCVR (Temperature Compensated Voltage Reference) also has adjustable voltage reference with a wide range of 1.225V to 15V and a current range of 30mA. The output voltage of this voltage adjuster can be changed by using two external resistors with a voltage divider ratio and a linear change of 20 mV per step in the output voltage.

The design of LM385D-1-2 is highly optimized to give a low output noise, low temperature drift with a high accuracy of up to ±2.5mV to put for use in precision applications. The steady stability of this voltage reference helps in higher reliability and it can handle up to 70mA of load current over a wide temperature range of -40° to 125°C.

The working principle mentioned in LM385D-1-2 resembles a feedback loop in the standard control theory. Such feedback loop is the working principle which includes a voltage reference and an error amplifier, which is at the heart of system control. The voltage reference defines the voltage that is wanted from the circuit and the error amplifier compares the reference voltage and sense nodes. If the two voltages differ, the error amplifier corrects the output voltage and brings the two voltages in balance.

This voltage reference has high performance, practical convenience, and quality assurance tested, so as to provide consistent, excellent results in numerous industrial, automotive, and aerospace applications. It also provides a lower quiescent current and output noise than many of its competitors.
