The SDLe temperature sensing technique utilizes a unique combination of digital logic, analog circuitry, and a precision temperature sensor. SDL consists of two fundamental blocks; a tristate differential amplifier, and a temperature-sensing element. The LM73CIMKX-1/NOPB device provides a digital output signal that is proportional to the temperature that is sensed. The output signal can be used as an input to a variety of controllers, such as microcontrollers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and digital-to-analog converters (DACs).

The LM73CIMKX-1/NOPB temperature sensor utilizes a diode-based sensing element. The diode provides an input to the differential amplifier that is proportional to the measured temperature. The differential amplifier then converts this input into a digital signal that is proportional to the input temperature. The output from the differential amplifier is then converted into a linear voltage signal, which is then transmitted as an analog-to-digital (A/D) signal through the A/D pin.
