The LM77CIMX-3, also known as a CIMX, is a digital temperature sensor with an analog output, designed by Exar Corporation. This family of IC temperature sensors provides a reliable and cost-effective way to accurately measure temperatures. They can be used in a variety of applications, such as in industrial and commercial buildings, in automotive and aerospace applications, and in medical and safety equipment.The LM77CIMX-3 is a low cost, low power three-terminal digital temperature sensor with an accuracy of ±1°C. It is equipped with an analog voltage output that can be used to build a simple temperature measurement circuit. The output of the LM77CIMX-3 digital temperature sensor is a direct conversion of the temperature that is being monitored. This allows it to accurately measure both low and high temperatures. The voltage output can be reduced by using a voltage divider circuit, or by connecting a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to the device.The working principle of the LM77CIMX-3 is based on an internal band gap reference with a bipolar junction transistor amplifier. Hysteresis control helps to reduce fluctuations in the output voltage by allowing the device to respond to a temperature change after a certain hysteresis level has been exceeded.The LM77CIMX-3 is available in packages such as a SOIC-8 and a 3mm x 3mm V12-FQFN. It can also be used with other devices such as an A/D converter, multiplexers and I/O ports.
