What is LM833N
LM833N is a dual operational amplifier with very low noise (Von = 1.6 nV/Hz) and low power drain (Ib = 90 μA/amplifier). It features very wide bandwidth (1.8 MHz) at low supply voltage (2.5 V). It is the ideal choice for high gain and low distortion audio, instrumentation and video applications.

Audio applications
The LM833N is widely used in audio circuits, such as sound reinforcement, studio monitoring and audio mixing. Due to its low noise and high gain it can offer extended low frequency response with minimal distortion. As one of the key stages in a feedback loop, it also enables closed loop operation and precise control in audio equipments.
Instrumentation applications
Due to the low noise and low power consumption, the LM833N is widely used in precision and low-level instrumentation applications such as in test and measurement and sensor devices.
The LM833N can also be used in medical and scientific applications, such as in wide range of transducers, pressure and temperature sensors, and electrometers.
OP Amps, Buffer Amps and Low Noise/Power Applications
As a result of its low noise and power consumption, the LM833N can provide excellent results for buffer amps, low noise and power applications. It is suitable for use in voltage regulation and can replace passive resistors in many low level circuits.
The LM833N is also suitable for moving coil preamplifiers, dynamic equalizers, active filters and dynamic range compression.
Working principle of LM833N
The LM833N consists of two independent low-noise amplification stages, each of which consists of an input buffer, an operational amplifier, and a power supply. The operational amplifier includes all the necessary components for its operation including for example, an adjustable current limiter, a frequency compensation network, an adjustable gain control, a variable current limiter called the Emitter Follower (or Input Follower) and a high pass filtering network.
Each stage of the amplifier is capable of providing a gain of up to 1000 and operates in single-ended or differential modes to provide low-noise performance over a wide frequency range.
The LM833N has a low input bias current and a fast settling time and is able to provide high fidelity performance even at very high level of signal and power supply voltages.
The LM833N is designed to work with low-noise, low-distortion signal conditioners, in order to minimize noise and distortion. This enables it to perform accurately, even in the presence of high-frequency noise.
The LM833N also features an adjustable band-reject filter that can be used to reduce noise in audio systems and to prevent interference in instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
