This is backed up by its long-term drift stability, wideband noise floor and the flexibility of four complete bias networks.

The full system includes an on-board phase-locked loop (PLL), and a synthesizer, which is capable of generating a range of frequencies ranging from 10KHz up to 20MHz. As well as this, it also contains a crystal oscillator, as well as a low-noise voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) for frequency agility. This system is also capable of generating precise phase relationships between two signals, which is an important factor for a number of applications.
