The LMR23625CFQDDARQ1 is a high-performance, low-voltage DC/DC synchronous buck switching regulator (or step-down converter) from Texas Instruments. It provides a 4.5V to 30V wide input voltage range and 0.75V to 15V adjustable output voltage range with excellent line/load regulation. It features high efficiency, wide input voltage range and low output ripple, and provides a low-noise, low-loss solution for powering microcontrollers, FPGAs, ASICs and system-level loads operating from a single-cell Li-ion or triple-cell alkaline/NiCd/NiMH battery. It offers fast transient response with a programmable switching frequency up to 1MHz.

The LMR23625CFQDDARQ1 includes an internal high-accuracy reference and sensing circuit that offers excellent line and load regulation. It has an adjustable soft-start option and pre-biased output enable to enable the device to start up even with a pre-biased output voltage. It has an undervoltage lockout circuit that prevents unwanted power-on/off cycling and provides level-shifted enable input for low-voltage logic.

The device has a built-in switching frequency adjustment feature which allows the user to adjust the switching frequency for optimum performance. It also has an internal current limit and thermal shutdown, which provides protection from abnormal operation and fault conditions. Additionally, it has a power saving mode which can be enabled to reduce switching losses during light load conditions. The device is housed in a 5mm x 5mm QFN package.

The device is suitable for continuous conduction mode (CCM) and discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) applications. In CCM, the inductor current always remains above zero, while in DCM it drops to zero and then increases again. This mode helps in reducing the power consumption and also improves the efficiency at light-load conditions.
