Introduction
LMV1090TLEVAL/NOPB is a member of Texas Instruments\'s family of evaluation and demonstration boards and kits. It is a three-phase brushless DC motor control evaluation kit designed to evaluate Texas Instruments\'s LMV1090 dual-channel, low-noise, filterless, high-precision motor control. It is a complete, space-saving package that comes with everything necessary to get started quickly and conveniently.
Application Field
LMV1090TLEVAL/NOPB is ideally suited to drive small, low-power motors in applications where efficiency, noise and size are the primary concerns. These include but are not limited to medical equipment, industrial automation, hand tools, UAVs and robotics. It can be used in a wide variety of applications which require precision speed and torque control for low-power DC motors, such as in fan control, monitoring industrial equipment, and motion control.
Working Principle
The LMV1090TLEVAL/NOPB is based on Texas Instruments\'s LMV1090 dual-channel controller. It utilizes a unique, low-noise current sensing technology to accurately control the motor, providing 20-bit current measurement resolution and 4-bit rotational positioning resolution. The current sensing technology utilizes a small transformers mounted on the motor stators to sense the motor current, eliminating the need for bulky and expensive external power components such as inductors and isolation transformers.
The LMV1090TLEVAL/NOPB also uses Texas Instruments\'s unique PVDD and SENSE techniques to reduce board space, improve EMI and reduce switching losses in the power system. The board also includes on-board regulation and startup protection, allowing for an easy setup and reliable operation. The on-board regulation ensures a consistent output voltage, allowing for precise motor control and improved motor efficiency. The startup protection eliminates the need for external power supplies and ensures the motor stays within safe operating limits.
