LNK419EG is a kind of externally compensated, single version, offline Resetable Switch Mode LED Driver. The device uses the quasi-resonant Zero-Voltage Switching Technique to reduce high-frequency noise, while accurately regulating the LED current up to 150mA. The device offers low external component count, low power consumption and excellent light regulation characteristics, making it perfect for LED backlighting applications.

Working Principle

The principal working of LNK419EG is based on the quasi-resonant switching technique. The device operates in discontinuous high voltage current mode. When its supply current reaches the current set threshold, it enters into the period of on time. During this period, the output voltage is maintained at the internal set level, keeping the peak current within its defined limits. Once the high voltage current goes below the current set threshold, the device enters into the off-time period and switches back to the low voltage current mode, reducing the power dissipation of output devices. The constant peak current flowing through the diode, gives it a stable and constant output power.

The LNK419EG series utilizes a thermal shut down circuit to protect the output device from being damaged. This shut down circuit is triggered when the temperature of the output device rises above the set threshold. The thermal shut down feature is designed to give a system a secure and efficient design.

The built-in loop compensation provides extreamely stable intervals and long life of the system. The LNK419EG series uses leading edge dimming control for for dimming effects. It helps in achieving a dimmable range from 0.1%-100%. This feature also helps in smooth and comfortable dimming for diversified backlight applications. The device has an extremely low start up and operating current with a system standby power being only 0.2W.

The LNK419EG series has an input voltage range of 6V-36V and the switching frequency is adjustable, making it suitable for LED lighting and backlighting applications.
