LP3985IBL-2.7 is a high performance linear voltage regulator with an output voltage of 2.7V and a very small supply current of 0.2µA. It is a low dropout (LDO) regulator which means it can maintain its output voltage even with a very small input voltage difference. The LP3985IBL-2.7 is a low dropout (LDO) regulator. It is based on a simple three terminal configuration design where the VIN Input voltage is compared to a precision reference voltage of 2.7 volts. The magnitude of the adaptive error amplifier’s output voltage is determined by the relationship of the two voltages. It then produces a current that is proportional to the difference between the two voltages.

The LP3985IBL-2.7 has a minimum voltage enabling feature to prevent the supply from dropping below the minimum operating voltage threshold before enabling the regulator. The magnitude of the current in turn determines the amount of current that flows from the VIN pin to the VOUT pin and the output voltage is maintained at a constant voltage of 2.7V. This device also has an internal reverse current blocking feature that will prevent any reverse current flow.
