The LS1021A-IOT processor from Freescale Semiconductor is an advanced microprocessor that is extremely versatile for applications that require Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity and device control. The LS1021A-IOT also integrates an ARM Cortex-A7 processor, a Cortex-M4 processor, and an extensive array of connection ports, radios, and peripherals.The LS1021A-IOT processor is ideal for use in applications that require extreme flexibility and scalability in order to take advantage of different radio protocols, integrated sensors, and deep packet inspection capabilities. This type of processor is most commonly used in embedded systems such as appliances, gaming consoles, and medical devices that require a robust and efficient CPU to process the collected information from connected devices.At the core of the LS1021A-IOT processor is an ARM Cortex-A7, which can run at up to 1.2 GHz with 512KB of L2 cache. This processor is supported by a Cortex-M4 processor for control and security acceleration. The LS1021A-IOT processor also utilizes an extensive array of peripherals and connection ports in order to provide a comprehensive solution for IoT-connected devices.The processor includes integrated radios that support both 4G LTE-Advanced and Bluetooth 4.1, allowing for a wide range of communication protocols.
