Introduction to LS103C-GS08

LS103C-GS08 is a diode rectifier with a single-phase and full-wave structure, suitable for AC power with a frequency from 50Hz to 400Hz and rated maximum current from 1.0A to 8.0A. It is widely used in DC power supplies, rectification and regulation of industrial control equipment, and automotive application such as solving the problem of serious voltage drop when the engine starts and supply of power. In order to achieve the best rectification effect, the anode of of LS103C-GS08 should be connected with positive voltage while the cathode should be connected to negative voltage.

Application Field and Working Principle

LS103C-GS08 have wide application fields due to its good performance, such as supplying power for audio and video equipment, office automation, instrumentation and control systems, vehicle start-up circuits and so on. Generally speaking, it used to rectify AC voltage to DC voltage.LS103C-GS08 function with a single-phase and full-wave structure, which means that the diode rectifier bridge circuit is made up of two branches, each of which includes two diodes. The working conditions of two branches are different and complementary to each other. During the positive half-cycle of sinusoidal alternating current, diodes D1 and D3 are turned on, and D2 and D4 remain off. During the negative half-cycle, it is the reverse that D2 and D4 are turned on, and D1 and D3 remain off. So the diode bridge can cut off the positive and negative half-wave of the alternating current, respectively, and turn the alternating current into a direct current. Since the forward voltage drop of a silicon diode is large, the output of the rectifier will have a large voltage drop, accompanied by distortion of the sine wave. In order to reduce the voltage drop, LS103C-GS08 uses a high power grade device to reduce the forward voltage drop. In addition, LS103C-GS08 uses a soft recovery circuit to reduce the turn-off voltage ring and increase the control circuit. The advantages of LS103C-GS08 are as follows:
