LSCR103 is a type of semiconductor based non-volatile memory, developed by Texas Instruments Inc. It is a part of the SuperFlash family of memory products. It is composed of 16 layers of thin-film integrated circuits formed on a single die, making it particularly suitable for applications that require very high density and strong signals. The LSCR103 memory supports 1 bit per byte of data and up to 256 bytes of total storage per chip, with data retention of up to 10 years.
The LSCR103 is mainly used for general non-volatile memory storage, but is also often used for more specialized applications such as firmware storage and code obfuscation. In code obfuscation, it is used to store secret encryption keys or code hashes in order to protect proprietary software from unauthorized access. It can also be used in various real-time embedded systems, such as medical device controllers, and to store various parameters required to run the device.
The working principle of LSCR103 is relatively simple. First, data is written into the memory cell in a process known as data programming. During the programming process, the data is written as combinations of two alternating voltages on a single electrical line; one voltage causes the memory cell to store a bit of data as a 0, while the other voltage causes the cell to store a bit of data as a 1. After the data has been programmed, it can be read back by a process known as readout and is stored inside the cell until it is erased. The erase operation is achieved by applying a third voltage, which causes the cell to release the stored data.
In addition to the standard read and write operations, the LSCR103 also supports a range of other functions such as burst write/read, and encrypt or secure write/read. The burst write/read operation allows data to be programmed into the cell in a continuous stream with no wait time between each byte. The encrypt or secure write/read functions enable secure data transfers, with the data being encrypted before it is written into the cell and decrypted after it is read back. This ensures that the data stored in the cell is secure and protected against unauthorized access.
The LSCR103 is a versatile and reliable memory solution, and its wide range of applications make it an ideal choice for many different types of projects. Its simple operation and robust design ensure that it is suitable for a wide range of embedded and consumer electronics applications, making it a popular choice in the industry today.
