Snap Action, Limit Switches

LSV7L Application Field and Working Principle

The LSV7L* snap action, limit switches are miniature, low-cost, long-life switches and are characterized by their high reliability and long electrical life. Used in household appliances, automotive, computer and office systems, they are employed as voltage circuits, position or temperature sensing, or as emergency stop devices. They are dependable enough to be used in heavy-duty applications such as in engines and robotic systems. The LSV7L snap action, limit switches can be used for both new and retrofit LCD panel applications.

LSV7L snap action, limit switches are designed for two-position, two-wire operation. They operate in two stages: the pre-engagement stage and the operating stage. In the pre-engagement phase, the switch is disengaged and a short circuit is formed between the two contacts, causing current to flow from the contact. In the operating stage, the switch is engaged and current is shunted between the contacts.

Advantages of LSV7L snap action, limit switches include a long life of up to 10 million cycles, a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +110°C, an operating humidity up to 90% and UL/C-UL recognized components. In addition, they require no additional electrical noise, have a rated working voltage across the contacts up to 250VAC and a rated load of up to 5A. They offer a range of operating pressure settings with a low-pressure setting as low as 10 g.

LSV7L applications include industrial and medical robot systems, medical equipment, outdoor equipment, vibration and shock tests and air conditioning equipment. Its application can be extended to areas where a switch is needed for two-position operation or single-pole function control. It is also suitable for control circuits that require a large number of switching cycles and for systems where noise and vibration are not a factor.

The LSV7L snap action, limit switches are a reliable and dependable solution for low-cost, long-life switches. They are designed with a two-stage operation, can operate in high and low pressure setting, and offer a wide range of operating temperature and humidity. They are ideal for applications where noise and vibration are not a factor and are UL/C-UL recognized.
