The LT1185CT#06PBF is a three-terminal Low Dropout Voltage Regulator with Internal Current Limiting and Thermal Shutdown features. It is designed for 5V and 3V output with a wide range of output currents, up to 500mA, and with features to make it ideal for many portable and other applications. This regulator offers an improved line and load regulation over many other linear regulators, due to its low dropout voltage (typically 300mV or less). In addition, its wide input voltage range of 2V to 30V, makes it suitable for many types of applications, from battery-operated to AC/DC converter control. The LT1185CT#06PBF is a three-terminal linear voltage regulator. As the output voltage changes, the regulator either increases or decreases its output current, resulting in a corresponding change in output voltage.The reference voltage of the regulator is internally set to 2.5V and can be externally adjusted. Output current limiting is achieved by sensing the voltage drop across the output transistor and reducing the output current when the voltage drop exceeds a predetermined value.
