LT1223CN8#PBF Application Field and Working Principle

The LT1223CN8#PFB is part of Linear Technology\'s family of Instrumentation, OP Amps, Buffer Amps. It is a fully differential input, dual, low power in-amp with a very high common-mode range. It is designed to interface two 0V to 5V common mode signals to a single-ended processor or system. This product is designed for measurement, data acquisition and waveform analysis applications.

Working Principle

The dual in-amp uses a differential input stage and a very high common-mode rejection ratio to inject low offset and noise into a signal chain. It uses an isolation amplifier to drive an output op amp and provide an output swing of 4.5V at 115mA. The built-in output gain is adjustable through a single resistor, eliminating the need to compensate for varying gain errors associated with external components. The LT1223CN8#PFB is designed for low power operation and operates from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply, consuming only highly stable 250µA (typ.) of operating current.

The LT1223CN8#PFB has the ability to reject common-mode signals at frequencies up to 100kHz, with a very low input offset voltage. The combination of its differential input stage and its very low offset channel-to-channel allows the linear in-amp to be used as a DC/AC coupled differential amplifier in many applications. Furthermore, the LT1223CN8#PFB also has a built-in 4th order lowpass filter with programmable cutoff frequency to limit out-of-band noise. With output current up to 115mA, the LT1223CN8#PFB is suitable for driving low impedance loads.
