LT1370IT7#PBF is a DC/DC switching regulator component of the power management integrated circuit (PMIC). It is designed to deliver stable, low-noise, low-energy and low-impedance power from a DC source to power different application fields.
The LT1370IT7#PBF is a synchronous step-down (buck) converter controlled by a high-voltage, low-voltage input voltage, with a high-performance switching active bridged rectifier (switch). It has excellent efficiency with very low quiescent current consumption and includes a bias-current self-assessment feature for higher frequency operation.
The LT1370IT7#PBF module is designed to operate from an input voltage from either 4.5V to 25V or 36V. The output voltage can be regulated from 0.3V to 22V and capable to deliver up to 2A output current to meet the requirements of most applications. It features a low-noise pulse width modulation (PWM) operation and is unmatched in power supply efficiency.
The LT1370IT7#PBF has two output voltage options which can be configured by on-board resistors. The “ON” pin is set low to enable the regulator, while the status “OFF” is set high to reduce power consumption during standby. Additionally, the DC/DC regulator features an over-voltage protection (which is short-circuit proof) and an adjustable over-temperature protection.
The working principle of LT1370IT7#PBF is based on synchronous rectification technique. In this system, the current and voltage across shown on the load is constant and the losses are minimized. The high-efficiency synchronous rectification technique employed in LT1370IT7#PBF delivers higher power efficiency than conventional designs. Its internal feedback regulator works in linear and PWM modes to regulate the output voltage.
Furthermore, the LT1370IT7#PBF utilizes synchronous rectification to regulate the output voltage. The synchronous rectification reduces the conduction losses by actively controlling the switch to turn ON or OFF when needed. This allows the device to achieve up to 98% efficiency while maintaining a low 10uA of quiescent current. As a result, the highest efficiency is achieved at higher output current.
