LT1766IFE-5#PBF is a monolithic switching regulator containing all the necessary active components to produce a high efficiency low ripple power conversion in a very compact space. It is designed to be a high voltage, high current DC to DC switched regulator that can provide up to 5 amps output current from an input voltage range of up to 34V. It can be used to step-down any wide input voltage to any lower regulated DC voltage with highly accurate stability.

The LT1766IFE-5#PBF is a member of the LT17xx family of monolithic integrated circuit regulators specifically designed to regulate the output of a DC-DC switch mode power converter. The device integrates all of the system functions necessary to operate in either step-down or step-up applications. These products are designed to operate at switch frequencies up to 1 MHz and offer built-in short-circuit protection, auto-restart and true shutdown capability. The LT1766IFE-5#PBF is offered in either Lead-free (PbF) or RoHS compliant packages with different pin requirements.

The basic integrated circuit block diagram of the LT1766IFE-5#PBF includes a high voltage switch, voltage error amplifier, current up/down converter, and an internal reference. The device combines a unique power factor correction (PFC) control circuit with an advanced switchmode converter to provide high efficiency, low noise operation. It also features very accurate voltage regulation and a wide dynamic range of output current and adjustable output voltage with 1% accuracy. The device includes a low pass filter which helps reduce AC components on the inputs, providing improved power factor regulation.
