The LT3742EUF#TRPBF is a high performance monolithic synchronous current mode DC-to-DC step-down switching regulator controller that includes equalized current sharing and internal synchronous rectification control. Working Principle:
The LT3742EUF#TRPBF operates by using current mode switching with a single loop. The device includes an internal oscillator that generates a frequency, ranging from 300kHz to 2MHz, based on the external timing capacitor (CT) and the voltage across the FB pin. The energy from the VIN pin is transferred to the load, controlled by the current that is set by the external RCS resistor. When the output voltage reaches 0.8V, the high-side and the low-side MOSFETs in the power stage turn off, and the diode D1 conducts to discharge the inductor current. The current is sensed by the TS pin and eventually flows into the load. During the next cycle, the MOSFETs are turned on again, the current is increased by the amount of the inductor current, and the loop carries on to the next cycle.
