Working Principle
LT6375IDF#TRPBF is a fully differential amplifier which uses CMOS and BiCMOS technology to achieve improved performance and reliability under low-power conditions. It consists of a differential amplifier and current driver, output common-mode controller, interface circuitry for power-supply control and control logic.
The differential amplifier measures the voltage between its two inputs and amplifies it to a proportionately higher output. The current driver converts the input voltage into an equivalent output current at the common-terminal of the driver, and thus provides a positive and negative voltage amplifier. This allows the amplifier to drive large capacitances, simplify power supply design and improve the noise performance of the system.
The output common-mode controller is used to compensate the amplifier\'s response to large common-mode Swing to ensure that its output voltage remains within a certain range. The on-chip control logic module allow the amplifier to operate in one of two modes: gain-controlled mode or non-gain-controlled mode. This is accomplished by sourcing current to the input common-mode controller of the amplifier. In the gain-controlled mode, the differential-input voltage is adjusted to maintain the required output level. In the non-gain-controlled mode the amplifier has a fixed gain.
The interface circuitry of the amplifier provides the ability to externally control the current sources used to regulate the output common-mode voltage. It also allows the amplifier to be connected to different power-supply types and configurations, as well as for the use of multiple power supplies. Finally, the control logic module enables the amplifier to operate in either open-loop or closed-loop gain control mode.
