The LT8580EDD™ PBF (Power Block Fexing) is a new type of power management integrated circuit (PMIC) designed to meet the requirements for cost-effective, low-power and light-weight system designs. This device is designed to provide excellent power efficiency, dynamic load response and conservative thermal performance for voltage regulators, DC-DC switching regulators and other system requirements.

The LT8580EDD™ PBF is a complete power solution, providing multiple, independent DC-DC switching regulators, provides integrated protection and voltage regulation, and is available in a wide range of packages. The device has two independent switch controllers, three independent DC-DC switched converters, two separate charge pump circuits, two regulators, and two levels of dynamic load response. Additionally, it has a high-efficiency gate drive chain and supports up to five output voltages.

The LT8580EDD™ PBF provides the features needed to safely convert DC input power into two levels of regulated output power. With two levels of dynamic load response, it is well suited for powering advanced applications such as portable and embedded systems, security and surveillance systems, motor drives, LED backlighting systems and many more. The device also contains a range of programmable features such as under-voltage lockout, over-voltage lockout, current limiting and thermal shutdown, allowing precisely tailored power management systems to be quickly and easily implemented.

The LT8580EDD™ PBF is able to provide multiple DC-DC switching regulators in a configurable, low-cost and small form factor package. Its programmable features allow for different operating modes to be deployed for different load and environment conditions. These include active load shedding, fine load stepping and pulse-skip mode. The device also provides an integrated output fault adjustor controller, allowing for specific current-limit settings to reduce power consumption and provide application-specific accuracy.
