The LTC1345ISW#TRPBF is a high-speed 3.3V differential bus recevier from Linear Technology. It is designed to meet all of the requirements specified in the IEEE 802.3 standard, including support for up to 20 tokens and up to 550 Mbps data rate. The device supports eye-pattern tracking with powerful equalization and de-emphasizing capabilities. This makes it an ideal choice for applications requiring high speed data transmission over short, medium, or long distances. It is also one of the few devices available with a low EMI (electro-magnetic interference) profile.
As an interface component, the LTC1345ISW#TRPBF is used to facilitate data exchange between two points. The working principle of the LTC1345ISW#TRPBF is quite simple. When an input signal is received, it is converted to an analog voltage on two differential outputs with a gain of 6V/V. This output is then compared to two levels of differential thresholds, determined by two internal reference voltage sources. If the input voltage exceeds one of the two thresholds, the receiver outputs a logic high signal corresponding to the data transition. It also provides a clock enable signal (CEN) which signals the availability of a valid clock edge. This enable signal can be used by a clock recovery circuit to generate a clock from the data stream.
The LTC1345ISW#TRPBF also compliant with adjacent channel requirements, including isolation of up to 55 dB up to 10 GHz and superior dynamic range of more than 60 dB. In addition, power consumption of the device is available in two options; the LTC1345IT-1 is a low power option with a typical power consumption of 8 mW, while the LTC1345IT-2 is a high power-level version with a typical power consumption of 65 mW. This allows designers to easily select the most appropriate device depending on their application’s power and speed requirements.
