The analog / digital circuitry monitors the Hot Swap current and temperature and compares these against the programmed limit levels. When the current and/or temperature limit is exceeded, the power MOSFET switch is opened, disabling the Hot Swap output voltage. The LTC1647-2IS8#PBF also provides protection against over-temperature conditions and can be used to implement system shutdown in the event of an overload or fault condition.The LTC1647-2IS8#PBF has a high-side current sense amplifier which allows the sensing of current from any shunt resistor. The built-in amplifier has an adjustable gain and can also be used for dimming PWM input. A Fault Latch output can be used to indicate that the current or temperature limit has been exceeded. An Enable / Disable input is provided for disabling the Hot Swap output voltage.The LTC1647-2IS8#PBF is a versatile Hot Swap controller and can be used in a wide range of hot swap applications. It is suitable for use in systems with supply voltages up to 48V and is capable of providing up to 8A of current.
