The LTC1968CMS8#TRPBF is a high-performance, low-cost RMS to DC (R2D) converter that is designed for use in a variety of applications. It is a monolithic integrated circuit that contains all of the components necessary to convert the input signal (typically an AC voltage or current) into a DC output. The LTC1968CMS8#TRPBF is designed for both single-ended and differential input applications and can operate from a wide range of supply voltages and output current requirements.The LTC1968CMS8#TRPBF is capable of measuring both peak and RMS values from a signal source. The device automatically detects the input signal’s polarity and adjusts the signal accordingly in order to convert it into a DC output. The LTC1968CMS8#TRPBF is designed to be used in both low-end to high-end signal processing systems. This flexible device is capable of operating in a voltage range of 3 to 28 volts and can achieve a bandwidth of over 40 kHz.The LTC1968CMS8#TRPBF R2D converter also offers an adjustable full-scale input range, allowing it to be tailored to suit a variety of applications. The device can also be configured to provide either a positive or negative DC output. In addition, the device utilizes a unique capacitive sensing technique to calculate the true RMS amplitude of the input signal, which eliminates the need for additional signal conditioning.The LTC1968CMS8#TRPBF is designed for use in a variety of applications including but not limited to: voltage/current measurement, DC power supplies and converters, motor control systems, AC power/drive monitoring systems, sound systems, and other applications that require accurate RMS to DC conversion. The device also provides temperature compensation, short-circuit protection, and auto-shutoff features. The device utilizes a high-accuracy current-sensing technique coupled with a low-noise voltage follower to measure the root-mean-square (RMS) input signal. The signal is then filtered and amplified, before the output is converted to a DC voltage or current. The integrated output stage is designed to provide a highly linear and accurate response to input signal overloads. In order to reduce power consumption, the LTC1968CMS8#TRPBF incorporates a low-power sleep mode, which can lower the device’s total power consumption to less than 1 mW. The device is equipped with an adjustable threshold voltage, allowing the user to control the threshold at which the sleep mode is activated. The device also includes an auto-shutoff feature, allowing the user to control the amount of time the device is kept in sleep mode. The LTC1968CMS8#TRPBF is a cost-effective and highly reliable R2D converter capable of performing various functions within a wide range of applications.
