In Buck Mode, the regulator accepts an input voltage of up to 20V and is capable of providing up to 5A of output current from a 3.3V output voltage. In Battery Mode, the regulator accepts an input voltage of up to 7V and is capable of providing up to 2A of output current. The input voltage is filtered with an LC input filter, before being fed to the integrated dual-mode power-conversion control IC. The power conversion control IC then drives an N-MOSFET switch, which is connected in series with an L-MOSFET synchronous rectifier.In Buck Mode, the device operates as a synchronous buck regulator, generating the required output voltage from the input voltage by controlling the duty cycle. The integrated current limit circuit is set to the maximum output current level and the regulator switches the power FETs at a fixed frequency.In Battery Mode, the device operates as a battery charger, allowing you to charge a battery from a single-phase source.
