The LTC3625IDE-1#TRPBF Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) provides an innovative solution for determining the wattage of the load accurately, quickly and efficiently due to the utilization of high-precision current sensing. It can measure the current up to +/-10A with a resolution of 0.4uV, and convert it into power information. Furthermore, it can detect the output voltage and adjust the alternating current (AC) peak current to match the required loading conditions. This power management IC is extremely useful in applications also including telecommunication, automotive and renewable energy.The LTC3625IDE-1#TRPBF PMIC consists of four segments organized in the form of an integrated circuit: the sense section, the control section, the voltage and current converter section and the regulation section. The sense section contains a sense resistor, which is utilized to detect the current and convert it into a corresponding voltage signal. The control section contains a control logic and pulse width modulation (PWM) circuit which receives this signal and is used to generate the control signals necessary for regulation. The voltage and current converter section converts the detected output voltage into the AC current necessary for powering the load. Finally, the regulation section regulates the AC peak current within the boundaries necessary for the load and manages the PWM.This power management IC also provides overshoot protection for the load and prevents overloads, as the PWM signal is adjusted to limit the peak current to match the load. It provides a maximum switching frequency of 500kHz and is capable of operating from a supply voltage of 6V to 30V.
