The LTC6242HGN is a high-performance, low-offset and low-noise rail-to-rail amplifier module designed for use in instrumentation, operation amplifiers, buffer amplifiers and other applications. Featuring a very low bias current of 5 nA and no offset voltage drift, it is ideal for use in low-noise, precision applications.

The LTC6242HGN is a dual, infinitely adjustable gain amplifier, operating between 1 V and 20 V supply. It can provide gains up to 200 and provides exceptional accuracy and AC accuracy. The LTC6242HGN also features internal voltage and current limits, making it well-suited for a variety of industrial and consumer applications.

The LTC6242HGN uses two differential inputs and two differential outputs to produce an adjustable gain from unity to amplifications of up to 200. As with most rail-to-rail amplifiers, the output is buffered and requires minimal drive power. The designer can adjust the gain of the LTC6242HGN to match the application’s needs. The duality of the device also allows for two differential inputs to be processed simultaneously.

The LTC6242HGN has excellent power supply noise rejection, up to 80 dB PSRR, excellent input impedance and PSRR matching, maximum supply voltage of 20 V, very low bias current of 5 nA and no offset voltage drift, making it suitable for precision and low-noise applications. The low noise and low power consumption make it ideal for portable and low-power applications.

Due to its high PSRR, the LTC6242HGN can be used in battery-powered applications where power noise rejection is essential. It can be used in battery-powered portable applications, such as medical or industrial temperature sensing or measuring systems, or audio amplifiers or signal conditioning systems. The device is also available in an ultra-low-power version for use in portable and ultra-low-power applications.

In addition to its sound/noise processing features, the LTC6242HGN also features low-bias-current start-up and low-power-on-power-off circuitry. This uses an external capacitor to provide a bias current that is programmed on power-up, in order to reduce power dissipated.
