The LTC7862IUFD#PBF is a feature-rich, pulse width modulated (PWM) synchronous buck controller ideal for synchronous, step-down, mesa-topology switching regulators. Designed for telecom and networking applications, the LTC7862IUFD#PBF is available in the 8-lead SOIC and DFN package options and provides optimal efficiency across a range of output voltages, while minimizing output noise. Supporting up to 3 A peak output current, the LTC7862IUFD#PBF is ideal for powering FPGA, SoC and microcontroller applications.

The LTC7862IUFD#PBF has integrated overvoltage, overcurrent and thermal protection to ensure reliable operation, and soft start to minimize output voltage overshoot. The device also offers a wide input voltage range of 4 V to 32 V and is pin compatible, feature programmable with the LTC7860, increasing design flexibility and making it an ideal choice for multiple output designs. The device supports output voltage settings as low as 0.59 V and accepts an external current sense resistor to establish the desired current limit.

The LTC7862IUFD#PBF includes a slew rate limited, on-chip control oscillator, featuring frequency skip mode, which helps reduce output ripple and EMI and improves efficiency at light loads.
