This “open switch” disables the SSR’s ability to close thus interrupting the circuit and discontinuing power to the load.The second option is to apply a negative voltage to the control terminal, which will cause the SSR to open the switch and remove power from the load. This function is referred to as dynamic braking.The basic structure of the LVD 75F40 SSR consists of two parts – the control part and the output power part. However, the control part is especially important when looking at the output power part. When the voltage to the control part is below 0.8V, the SSR is off and power will not flow to the load. However, when the voltage is at or above 0.8V, it will turn on and power will flow.When the LVD 75F40 is in its switched off state, free-wheeling diodes protect the SSR from voltage transients to prevent damage.
