PTC Resettable Fuses

PTC resettable fuses are an anvanced form of electrical protection that combine the advantages of fuses and circuit breakers.PTC resettable fuses offer a higher level of circuit protection and can be used to isolate a circuit from any overcurrents or short circuit faults.The device is composed of two parts, a fuse element and a heat sensitive thermistor. The thermistor is the part that reacts to an overcurrent situation, and it starts to heat rapidly which increases the surrounding temperature and eventually trips the circuit.

Working Principle

The LVR005NS ptc resettable fuse uses a heat-sensitive thermistor element to detect over-current faults in a circuit. When the set current value is exceeded, the thermistor element heats up rapidly and increases the local temperature. This eventually trips the circuit and isolates it from the current overload. The thermistor element then slowly cools down allowing the circuit to restart and continue operating normally.
