Working PrincipleThe LX1555IDM device is a current mode PWM controller optimized for high speed, high efficiency, and superior transient response in switching power supplies. It specifically addresses DC-to-DC conversion, but it can also be used to generate a Phase-Shifted Zero Voltage Switching (PSZVS) or Phase Shifted Full Bridge (PSFB) signals. The LX1555IDM includes a versatile MODE/Sensitivity/Skip mode feature set as well as a temperature-compensated over-voltage protection, fast High-Side output current fold-back, over-heat protection, and more.In fixed frequency current mode control, the LX1555IDM PWM controller regulates the switching frequency by comparing the voltage across the Current Sense resistor (RSENSE) with the internal reference voltage and adjusts the pulse width accordingly. The LX1555IDM has a simple current mode control loop that provides good line and load regulation. The closed loop response is optimized for fast transient response at light load. This can be further improved with external compensation. The LX1555IDM also features integrated over-voltage protection and temperature-compensation, which allows the controller to provide tight regulation while ensuring safe operation over a wide range of line, load, ambient temperature, and component tolerances.
