LX1570IM

The LX1570IM is a three-phase Intelligent PMIC (Power Management ICs). It is an integrated power supply controller and monitor that offers a complete solution for converting power from AC mains to DC power. It is an all-in-one solution for power conversion, monitoring, and system control. The LX1570IM combines three power supply stages – the charge pump, the DC-DC converter, and the current limiting mode – to provide a fully-featured, cost-effective power solution.

The LX1570IM offers a wide input voltage range, low power dissipation, low noise, and high current protection. Its low current drain (100 µA max) provides improved system efficiency, while its low voltage dropout and high power density enable high power densities at low temperatures. It also offers a wide range of output current limits, configurable current limit protection, and a fault indicator.

The LX1570IM features a versatile charge pump, which ensures N-channel MOSFETs can be quickly switched on and off with minimum power dissipation. Its unique set of Intelligent PMIC features include a monitor and latching current limit modes, which provide fault protection, as well as soft start, frequency synchronization and transient protection.

The LX1570IM’s working principle is based on the use of current-limiting power supply controllers. The LX1570IM’s controller monitors the incoming supply current, and adjusts the voltage regulation level of the power supply. The power supply is then able to deliver the maximum current to the connected load, so long as the load does not exceed the current limit set by the controller.

The LX1570IM also implements an advanced current monitoring system which allows it to accurately detect any transient events that may be caused due to excessive current. The controller will then automatically shut down the power supply before any damage can be caused to the connected load. Furthermore, the controller can also be configured to provide protection against over-voltage and over-temperature events.
