The LX1673-06CLQ is a robust, low noise, buck-boost linear regulator that provides constant output voltage over a wide range of input voltages and consume little power. It is designed to operate from both positive and negative input voltages and provide accurate output regulation even under severe load transients. This device is well suited for battery powered and AC/DC applications.

The LX1673-06CLQ device has many advantages including low cost, small form factor, low noise, and low power dissipation. The device permits operation with input voltages down to 1 V and up to 24 V and provides output voltages ranging from 0.8 V to 23 V. In addition, it provides comprehensive output voltage protection, including low battery cut-off, undervoltage lockout (UVLO) and overvoltage protection (OVP).

The device incorporates a regulator, current limit and a thermal protection circuit to prevent over current or over temperature conditions. The output of the regulator is regulated to within ±0.1% of the nominal output voltage with typical 4-5mV of noise. The low quiescent current (Ioutqui) of the outputs and the regulator of 1.5 µA are ideal for battery powered applications.

The LX1673-06CLQ provides a 1.2 MHz switching frequency, resulting in a low output ripple over the range of 1-24V. The device also supports a shutdown mode that reduces the standby current consumption to less than 1 µA. Additionally, the device supports a selectable synchronous mode to improve efficiency and reduce EMI.

The LX1673-06CLQ provides a typical 4-A peak output current capability with an internal output current limit circuit temperature compensated for greater accuracy and stability. The device also features a fixed frequency 500 kHz PWM control, allowing for greater efficiency and improved transient response. The low noise switching and linear control topology enables the device to maintain tight regulation and fast transient response between 2.5 V to 24 V input.

The LX1673-06CLQ is ideal for applications such as battery-powered systems, laptop computers, PDAs, mobile phones, portable bluetooth handsets and other wireless devices, battery management systems, automotive applications, and lighting systems. The device is available in a small QFN-24 package.
